Indonesia Store is Scanesia's online shop, made for you as a home cook. Scanesia was founded in 1991 by Emmy Jørgensen, and today, 35 years later, we import Indonesian food and Asian groceries to all of Norway.
You may also know us from our own brand, Emmy's Choice.
Emmy Jørgensen is from West Sumatra in Indonesia, the region that gave the world rendang and the famous Padang cuisine. She came to Norway in the 1980s and brought the food of her home with her: before Scanesia she ran two restaurants where Norwegian guests got to taste Indonesian cooking.
In 1991 she founded Scanesia to make authentic Indonesian ingredients available in Norway. What started with the flavors of her homeland has grown into a range from Indonesia, Thailand, India, Turkey, Peru and Colombia, among others, and into our own brand, Emmy's Choice.
Today Emmy still leads the company as CEO, from our head office and warehouse in Ytre Enebakk. The idea is the same as in the beginning: good food can bring people together, wherever they come from.
