About Kobe
KOBE is an Indonesian food brand founded in 1979 in Semarang, Java, by the married couple Hestia and Sarwo Utomo. It began as a small family business, and its first product was Tepung Bumbu: a ready-seasoned coating flour that makes it easy to cook crispy fried dishes. It is regarded as a pioneer among seasoned coating flours in Indonesia.
In 1995 production moved to an industrial area in Tangerang, and the same year the company launched its export brand, Bali Kitchen. Later came BonCabe, a dried chili seasoning to sprinkle over food, and BonChili, known for spicy noodles and snacks labelled with heat levels all the way up to level 10.
