Maharani is the basmati rice of Chaman Lal Setia Exports, an Indian rice company with roots going back to 1974, when Chaman Lal Setia started a rice mill in Amritsar, Punjab. The Maharani brand was launched in 1980, and today the company runs rice mills in Amritsar and Karnal, in the middle of some of India's richest paddy fields.
Basmati is India's best-known rice, with long, slender grains and a mild, delicate aroma. Maharani Classic Reserve is 100% basmati rice with extra long grains that stay separate and fluffy after cooking, perfect for biryani, curry, dal, pilaf and grilled food.

How do I cook Maharani basmati rice?
Rinse 1 cup of rice well and soak it in lukewarm water for 30 to 35 minutes. Cook it with salt in 2.5 to 3 cups of water on medium heat until the water is absorbed, cover and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
